The Huskers were well-represented in the postseason awards department this year, mostly by a man named Suh.
Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh impressed people all over the country as he won four national awards for his standout play and earned All-American honors in leading the Huskers to a 9-4 record and an appearance in the Holiday Bowl on Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Husker fans were hoping Suh would pull off a remarkable feat and become the first defensive player since Charles Woodson to win the Heisman Trophy. Unfortunately, enough voters failed to vote for Suh, instead awarding the Heisman to Alabama sophomore running back Mark Ingrahm, who became the first Crimson Tide standout to win the award. Suh finished fourth in the final voting, trailing Stanford's Toby Gerhart and Texas quarterback Colt McCoy.
Now that the awards have been handed out, Suh and the Huskers return to the task at hand, which is their matchup with Pac 10 power Arizona in the Holiday Bowl. The Wildcats finished 8-4 in 2009 and were the conference runner-up, and coach Mike Stoops is expecting a physical matchup between his team and the Huskers.
You can get tickets to see the Huskers take on Arizona in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, Calif., now at Ticket Express -- where no Husker football game is ever sold out.
