The Huskers went through final workouts earlier this week before departing by air for sunny California, which will be a quite a different scene from the snowy, blizzard conditions they left behind in Lincoln earlier in the day.
Nebraska is preparing for its 50th bowl game in school history and its second trip to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl. In their last trip, the Huskers faced Arizona in the 1999 Holiday Bowl and came up on the short end of a 23-20 decision.
The Huskers will be led by Ndamukong Suh, the defensive lineman who has won a ton of postseason awards. Earlier this week, he became the second defensive player to be named the Associated Press Player of the Year. He was also the second Husker to win the award, as Eric Crouch received the honor during Heisman Trophy season in 2001.
Suh is being touted as the probable first pick in next spring's NFL Draft, and you can see him in action as a Husker one last time at the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
