There are a number of new players on the Husker football team looking to make an impact as the Huskers prepare for their Aug. 30 opener against Western Michigan. None of those newbies, though, are making quite the impact that Ricky Henry is.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound offensive guard comes to Nebraska by way of Omaha through North Dakota State College of Science. Reports from Husker camp are that Henry is flying around making big hits up front and providing some real inspiration for an offensive line that should be very talented in the season ahead.
Fellow guard Matt Slauson told the Lincoln Journal-Star that Henry is an inspiration for the team and seems to be exhibiting the kind of nastiness coach Bo Pelini is looking for up front.
It should be interesting, because reports are that this is one of the Huskers' most talented offensive lines since the 2001 team that went to the national championship game. They have been showing quite a bit of improvement and with Henry making an impact it will be very interesting to see how this unit comes out and performs this season.
