Nebraska is back at Haymarket Park this weekend, taking on Texas Tech in a three-game series that begins Friday afternoon.
The Huskers are ranked very high in all the major college baseball polls this week after winning two of three at Texas. They'll look to continue their hot run in the Big 12 against a Red Raiders team that is starting to get hot themselves.
After losing four of their first six in Big 12 Conference play, Texas Tech got a huge lift last weekend by taking two out of three from No. 2-ranked Missouri, including a wild 15-11 affair in the getaway game Sunday.
Senior outfielder Doug Thennis had a huge weekend, getting the tying RBI in Saturday's 3-2 win and hitting a walk-off grand slam homer in the bottom of the ninth of Sunday's finale. He went 5-for-10 for the weekend and earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors.
Texas Tech has struggled some with its pitching, but Chad Bettis looks to be their most consistent hurler with a 3-1 mark and a 4.75 earned-run average. Offensively, they'll be led by Willie Rueda (.324) and Roger Kieschnick (.324, 11 HR, 35 RBI).
Tickets for this weekend's series with Texas Tech are available at Ticket Express -- where no Husker home game is ever sold out.
